ABOUT US

“There are things you do because they feel right & they may make no sense & they may make no money & it may be the real reason we are here: to love each other & to eat each other's cooking & say it was good.” - Storypeople

Our Story

Melanie, our owner and founder, grew up in a home where the door was always open and the cookie jar was always full. With a mom and grandpa who were both chefs, she learned early on that food isn’t just nourishment, it’s a way to bring people together, create connection, and build community.

After moving to Green Bay with her husband Matt in 2018, they quickly noticed a gap: no one was scooping up small-batch, hard scoop ice cream. There were custard shops, fro-yo joints, gelato, and the usual chains, but not the kind of local, handcrafted ice cream shop they’d come to love during their years in Minneapolis. Places like Sebastian Joe’s and Izzy’s had set the bar high and sparked a dream of creating something similar in their new hometown.

So, Melanie bought an ice cream maker and started experimenting in her kitchen. What began as a fun, creative outlet soon grew into something more. Each batch was a chance to connect, to create, and to bring a little more joy into everyday life.

As friends and family began to gather around her ice cream, Melanie realized how important it was to make that joy accessible to everyone. When a close friend cut out gluten and dairy, and her niece and nephew were diagnosed with nut allergies, she started developing recipes for special diets, making sure everyone could find a flavor that worked for them, without compromise.

That spirit of joy, creativity, and inclusivity is what drives everything we do today. We're excited to bring our love of ice cream to the community and be a positive part of the place we now call home!
